Serving suggestion
Amaro Lumìa is traditionally enjoyed chilled as a classic digestive bitter after meals. In this way, it supports digestion and provides a pleasant sense of well-being.
The recipe
Amaro Lumìa is based on an old recipe from the grandmother of one of the founders of Magiantosa. It includes, among other ingredients, an infusion of 20 different medicinal herbs, which remain a closely guarded secret. These herbs grow under the Sicilian sun, partly on the slopes of Mount Etna, which dominates the eastern part of the island.
A key component of this digestive bitter is also an infusion of Sicilian lemon peels. The lemon, like the orange, is a symbol of Sicily and thrives particularly well at the foot of Mount Etna.
The production of Amaro Lumìa follows a careful and meticulous process that takes around 60 days to complete. By reviving this traditional recipe, the founders of Magiantosa succeed in bringing the passion for Sicily and its traditions back to life in a contemporary form.
Magiantosa is a small family-run business located on the southern slopes of Mount Etna. It places great importance on artisanal tradition as well as regional and seasonal ingredients. All products made by Magiantosa are intended to reflect the soul and flavour of Sicily.
