Sicilian cuisine
Sicilian cuisine is a typical and traditional cuisine that carries the flavors of different cultures. It is a cuisine that changes from town to town, from village to village, from balcony to balcony, from mouth to mouth. It also includes different traditions: the Arabic one with the sweet and sour dishes, the Norman one with the stockfish, the peasant one that uses selectively regional products. There are a thousand variants: each one is “the best” and triggers endless discussions, even between the different villages. So the task of telling about it and showing it can be difficult because of the many variations. To avoid the risk of getting lost, we took the most familiar recipes and asked grandmothers, uncles, parents, friends and relatives.
Sicilian cuisine and our recipes are therefore not only a website, but also the faces of many people who live on this beautiful island.
